Four Keys is a disintanglement puzzle consisting of four wooden keys that must be removed from a wooden keyhole.
In the late 1800’s , Professor Louis Hoffman designed the original Four Keys puzzle. He designed three keys the same and one different. I decided to make my own version and as a result, all four keys are different from each other. Each key has it’s own location and orientation in the keyhole for the puzzle to be solved.
My Four Keys puzzle is made from walnut. The pieces and keyhole were laser
cut by Walt Hoppe. All pieces had to be sanded and finished for proper fit.
